Mr. Bell,
Thank you so much for replying to my email. I never expected to receive a reply so quickly.
I would like to tell you that I started training with Ty yesterday. He and I did wonderfully with the first 3 steps. Now, the fourth step was not so easy. He did not like it and he started getting upset and jumping all around. I was proud of myself for handling him so well, but I did take your advice and I ordered the Discover Video as well as the set of Problem Solving Horse Training Video Series. I really need to to see it done before I can completely feel safe in the round pen with him. Ty was abused when I bought him and malnourished and they are the reasons that I did buy him. He is absolutely beautiful and I am so in love with him. My mare is in heat and she keeps calling him while I was working with him in the round pen. The great thing is that he went right back to his position when I rattled the plastic bag and said SSSSHHHHH! I am so happy! You are the best Mr. Bell!
Thank you for corresponding with me because I live out in the rural area of Delaware without anyone to help me and I am such a novice when it comes to training.
I am going to try giving him the bit with the molasses, but I plan to wait until I am more comfortable. He was abused and he will not allow me to even touch his mouth! AUGH! Yesterday, when I was rubbing him, I only got him to move his mouth once. It took me over an hour to find his spot, but he only did it once, but he does put his head way down when I rub him there. I am hoping that I can find other spots while watching your Discover Video.
Thank you for all of your help! I'll keep in touch to let you know how all of this goes.
God Bless you!
Liz :)
