Hi Frank,

I wanted to let you know what great results I have been having with your 7-Step Safety System (7-SSS). I rode my 17 hands high Dutch warm blood the other day for the first time he has been here since January and had been led around all his life with a chain! I was told how much he hated gates (going in and out of them) and how he was herd bound. Well, he is the most wonderful horse now after I worked with him using your 7-SSS. I had been doing your first six groundwork steps and he finally invited me to ride, and wow did I jump on that chance! All my volunteers cheered when I got on him and we are now buddies! The 7-SSS is working on all my horses here at my rescue/equine retirement center – the young ones as well as the old retirees that have had bad experiences in their lives.

I just wanted to pass on a little more good news. I had told your Accredited Instructor Sylvia Scott about an Arabian gelding that had sustained over $6,000 damage to his mouth by a “trainer.” This horse had also been run into a wall and the horse fell down with the trainer on him, who would not get off the horse. That trainer was using spurs, which even left marks on the horse. The owner is an older woman who has had little experience with horses, but loves them this was her first horse. She paid a lot of money for this Arabian and was very excited initially that she was going to have a beautiful and well-trained horse for herself and her granddaughter.

After the tragic incidents, this owner called me and asked if I would be willing to come over to take a look at her horse and to help her. The horse was bucking a lot and had thrown her granddaughter, cracking her helmet. I felt that the horse must be in pain and I let the owner know that I wanted to check those things out first, along with the fit of the saddle. Sylvia gave me a lot of wonderful advice there, which I have used and am still using with this horse.

To make a very long story short...after only one session with me, the horse came down a hundred degrees I did all the bonding and intimacy and then all of the remaining 7 steps in your system, and that horse sighed a huge sigh of relief and happiness at the end. I told the owner that I felt that the horse was very sore from all he had been through over the past few months and that he needed time to digest everything we had just done. I indeed found a sore spot just below his withers and he really related to me that it was painful. Anyway, I went back for our second session yesterday and the woman was standing waiting for me and she started crying. I thought maybe something bad had happened, but she instead exclaimed emotionally, " I cannot believe this is the same horse!! I didn't have to cross tie him to groom him he is so calm, and he is not trying to bite me or run over on top of me! What a different horse he is now!"

We still have a ways to go there this horse has really been through it in life, but your system and Sylvia’s ongoing coaching advice to me have kept this woman from selling her horse, and they are making positive forward progress. I am so happy for her, but more importantly, I’m thrilled for the horse!!

I regularly relate my training activities to Sylvia and know she is cheering me on always. I can hardly wait to become a Frank Bell Accredited Instructor and a member of your team!

Just wanted to pass on all this positive news. Thank you, Frank.

Take care in the spirit of the horses,
